Osirus Cruz (Ruperto) has been a beloved member of our JCCH facilities staff for over 17 years. If you are a member or have ever attended a kiddish, or holiday at JCCH, you are sure to have witnessed his dedication to our synagogue. If you are really lucky, you may have heard him sing along at services! Last week, Ruperto's brother was brutally attacked in a robbery that resulted in a coma. He never regained consciousness and tragically passed away as a result of the attack. Ruperto has had to travel home to the Dominican Republic for the funeral and to be with his family at this sad time. We are trying to raise money to offset the cost of his flights and stay, and the funeral. All the money raised will be given to Ruperto to help his family both here and in the DR.
