Help Rupanuga Bhajan Ashram Recover from the 2025 Vrindavan Flood

This monsoon season, Vrindavan once again faced severe flooding and our Rupanuga Bhajan Ashram was completely inundated for over a week in waist-deep Yamuna water.

This flood rose even higher than the record-breaking 2023 flood. The entire ground floor of the ashram including the temple hall, rooms, storage areas, goshalas — was all under water. All these spaces have suffered serious water damage and are now in the process of being deep cleaned, repainted, plastered, and restored before they can be used again.

When the water began to rise, we had to act quickly to rescue our 21 cows from the ashram. With the help of friends, we loaded them onto a truck and sent them safely to a goshala in Govardhan, where they are being cared for until conditions stabilize.

After the flood began to recede, we spent more than a week pumping out the remaining water from the buildings and compound. The cleanup and repair work is still ongoing weeks later.

We are now raising funds to cover the cost of:

Cleaning and repairing flood-damaged rooms

Painting and plaster work

Replacing damaged fixtures, furnishings, and materials

Transport and care for our cows during this period

Any contribution — no matter how small — will help us restore the ashram and continue our daily seva here in Vrindavan.

In the long term, our goal is to begin the challenging but necessary work of raising the low-lying areas of the ashram with earth and strengthening the compound walls to better withstand future floods. We never expected another severe flood to come so soon after the devastating 2023 inundation, but it now appears that such flooding may become a more frequent occurrence.

Thank you for your support.
