My name is Rula, I am from Gaza, Palestine, and I am the mother of three daughters who are the most precious part of my life. The twins Faten and Yasmin, who are 6 years old, and Dima, who is 4 years old. I pray to God every day to protect them from all harm and grant them a safe and stable life.

The ongoing war and the harsh conditions in Gaza have left me without any source of income to support my daughters. I became very ill with gallstones and underwent surgery. We live a very difficult life in my recovery. We have been displaced several times, and each time we lost everything: our house, our clothes, our daughters’ toys, our dreams, and our memories. Today, we have nothing to sustain a basic standard of living.

Currently, we live in an apartment just outside the yellow zone of conflict. Every month we must raise $600 to stay away from the daily gunfire and tanks. If we cannot stay in the apartment, we will be forced to live in areas that are still regularly bombarded. More people are martyred every day. But in the apartment, we are safer and my daughters can go to school. My daughters Faten and Yasmin are the star students of their class and we are so proud. Safety and Education are the first steps to the beautiful life I wish my daughters to have.
