Help 8 yr old Ruhi Fight a Rare & Life-Altering Brain Tumor

Update : Recently we visited Ruhi and our family in India. With all your blessings and support, Ruhi is stable for now. She is getting chemotherapy on a weekly basis. Per doctor, they will do MRI later this month and based on the MRI results, the doctor will provide more updates. We are hoping and praying that there will be improvements.

We are reaching out to you with heavy hearts to share the story of our beloved 8-year-old niece / sister - Ruhi Shah (living in India), who has recently been diagnosed with a rare and life-threatening condition: Diffuse Leptomeningeal Glioneuronal Tumor (DLGNT).

Ruhi is an incredibly smart, active, and kind girl whose warmth and energy lights up every room. She has always been full of life, with a deep love for learning and a big heart for helping others.

But now, this bright little girl is facing an unimaginable battle. DLGNT, a rare tumor that only gained recognition in 2016, has spread from the back of her brain through her spine. This type of tumor is so rare that there is no standardized treatment protocol, and very little research has been done worldwide—let alone in India. The rarity and complexity of her condition make her treatment plan all the more challenging.

Currently, Ruhi is undergoing treatment at the renowned Tata Memorial Centre in Mumbai under a leading pediatric oncologist. The doctors have recommended a combination of chemotherapy, targeted therapy, or radiotherapy to give her the best possible chance. However, this treatment journey will be long, physically and emotionally exhausting, and financially overwhelming.
