Help Ruger Heal: Support His Surgery and Recovery

Hi! My name is Amanda and I am a single income household, with my dog child, Ruger. The world makes it nearly impossible to afford housing and other necessities, making it extremely hard to take care of upcoming medical expenses for my boy. If you know me, you know Ruger is the upmost best thing that has ever happened to me.

Ruger is a 105LB 4 year old Rottweiler who quite literally saved my life, no exaggeration. He came from one of the hardest times of my life and has since then carried me through life the last four (almost 5) years. He has been with me through so many highs and so many lows, I have always gone above and beyond at making sure he is well taken care of, exhausting all efforts that may be needed.

Ruger is currently experiencing an infection in is leg (still), the cause is currently still unknown. We have been in and out of ER Vets, Animal Hospitals, Etc... with only temporary relief. All of his bloodwork has come back phenomenally. But....Unfortunately, the infection keeps returning despite mine and his vets exhausted efforts. At this time there is no reason to believe this infection is cancerous as antibiotics are treating the area entirely. But once antibiotics are stopped after completing a dose, the infection returns. Ruger is expected to undergo yet another surgery procedure on his left back leg as soon as I am able to gain the funds to do so. This surgery requires full anesthesia if necessary (which likely will be the case to the discomfort his leg has, he is not a fan of anyone coming near it). The time range of the procedure is left unknown, as it regards exploring the area that is ultimately dependent of how long it will take to complete the whole process. Further X-rays may also be needed to ensure nothing has changed from the previous imaging that was taken place.
This infection of his back left leg has been ongoing for almost 2 years. Each time it has been treated, it returns within 2-6 months later. As you can understand it is extremely frustrating and financial straining as I truly just want him to get better so he can be comfortable. With the swelling occurs, he does not like to put a lot of pressure on it, therefore he is not excited to get up, go outside, play, etc. If you know Ruger, you know he is the happiest, joyful teddy bear you may ever meet. So, him not being his self is so unusual.
The vet and I are also in agreeance that a biopsy will also take place to rule anything else out.
The donations are going to be applied to Ruger's surgery expenses, medications and biopsy as well as any other medications that may be needed if the biopsy comes back with anything else.
Should the expenses fall short of the amount raised, I will be using it to donate to local animal shelters and or rescues.

With all that being said, I am truly never the one to ask for donations or assistance in this manner. Creating this is hard on me already, but I want what is absolutely best for my dog and if I can be an advocate for him, I certainly will be. All I want is for his leg to be better and healed long term. He deserves it. If not for me, then please for Ruger.

I appreciate every single one of you who have taken the time to read all of this, I truly do appreciate any and all donations, if you are unable to do so, All I ask for is a prayer that we are able to navigate this and heal him. I am beyond ready for him to get back his daily life for more than just a temporary time frame again.

Thank you,

Amanda and Ruger <3
