On July 1st, our beloved father, Rufus Fortenberry, suffered a devastating stroke that turned our lives upside down. Since then, he has spent most of his time in the hospital, including many difficult days in the ICU. There were moments when we nearly lost him—but through prayer, perseverance, and incredible medical care, Rufus is now making remarkable progress.

While we are beyond grateful for the strides he’s making, the journey ahead is long. Rufus will need extensive rehabilitation, ongoing therapy, and several pieces of medical equipment that insurance unfortunately does not cover. In addition, his wife—our mom—has had to significantly reduce her work to stay by his side and act as his primary caregiver.

We are reaching out to our friends, family, and community for support. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward:

• Physical and occupational therapy

• Home health support

• Medical equipment and supplies

• Transportation to appointments

• Day-to-day living expenses as our parents adjust to this new reality

Rufus has always been a strong, hardworking, and kind-hearted man. Now he needs our help to continue his fight toward recovery and reclaiming as much independence as possible.
