Help Us Save Ruby’s Future

Ruby is our beautiful black Labrador puppy, born on 31/10/24. She’s full of love, energy, and has brought us so much happiness in such a short time.

On March 3rd, 2025, Ruby’s life changed forever.

While walking in the park, she got tangled up in leads, panicked, and bolted into a busy road. Tragically, Ruby was hit by one car and dragged underneath, then struck by another vehicle coming the opposite way.

Despite the impact, she somehow got back up and tried to run again, until we managed to stop her and rush her to the emergency vet.

Ruby had suffered a collapsed lung, multiple fractures in her back right leg (hip and hock), and serious trauma.

The emergency vets saved her life that night. They hospitalized her, drained her chest, gave her round-the-clock care, and stabilized her enough to come home.

Since then, Ruby has shown amazing spirit! but she is still unable to walk properly.

Six weeks on, she cannot bear weight on her injured leg, and she's already suffering severe muscle loss.

We have started hydrotherapy to help her slowly rebuild her strength, but the veterinary team now believe that Ruby urgently needs a hip replacement to have a chance at a pain-free, active life.

We have already spent over £4,000 on Ruby’s emergency treatments and ongoing care.

The hip replacement surgery will cost around £6,000–£7,000, and that doesn’t include post-surgery rehab and further x-rays.

Unfortunately, Ruby was still very young when this happened, and her insurance hadn't been finalized.

Everything so far has been paid out of our own pockets , and we’re now struggling to cover what she needs next.

Without surgery, Ruby will be left in daily pain, unable to walk properly, and we may face the heartbreaking decision of putting her to sleep if her quality of life continues to decline.

We cannot give up on her without trying everything we can.
