Help Ruby the Kitten Fight for Her Life

We’re reaching out to you with an urgent and heartfelt plea for help for our sweet kitten, Ruby. This former street kitten is in desperate need of life saving medical care. After just two days of treatment, fees have already accumulated to over 7000$ and growing. Anything you can offer to help us cover these expenses and save our girl would mean the world to us. A week ago, during a cold and rainy day, My girlfriend and I were on a walk when I heard the cry of a tiny kitten, shivering and alone. With no mother or siblings in sight, we bundled her up and brought her into our home. Ruby quickly stole our hearts with her vibrant spirit and grateful purrs.

The first day with Ruby was joyful. We took her to the vet for a check-up, where she received essential care: a dewormer, treatment for her kitten cold, and tests for feline leukemia and HIV (both negative). The Vets said despite a slight kitten cold, she is a happy and healthy kitten!

Despite this great news, her health began to decline just a day later. She developed severe congestion and sneezing, and we worked tirelessly to manage her symptoms with steam sessions and a humidifier. Ruby showed signs of improvement, and we felt hopeful. However, despite two un alarming check ups at the vet, her condition took a sudden turn for the worse.

In the early hours of the morning, Ruby was in respiratory distress. We rushed her to the emergency vet, where X-rays and blood work revealed a substantial case of pneumonia. The initial bill was $1,200, which we paid immediately. However, after stabilizing her and initiating treatment, the estimate for the next 24 hours of care was totaling $4,800+ which we have set up a payment plan for. She has relied on hospitalization within an oxygen chamber and other various treatments over the past 36 hours. She will also need a follow up including more X-rays once she recovers. As much as we’re committed to giving Ruby every chance to survive, these costs are overwhelming for us. We’ve already exhausted our financial resources, but we can’t bear the thought of giving up on Ruby when she’s fighting so hard.

Despite her sickness, her resilience shines through. They remain hopeful that her health is slightly improving and if she continues that path she will be able to heal at home and make a healthy recovery. We’re doing everything we can, but without help, we cannot financially continue her hospital treatment past the morning of December 4th. That’s why we’re humbly asking for your support. Any contribution, no matter the size, would go directly toward the of medical care she has had the last few days and any other treatment she may need. We want to give her the best chance to heal and thrive in the loving home she deserves.
