My name is Ruby and I am a 21 year old trans woman who lives in Iowa. I live with my father who is vehemently opposed to my transition and is verbally abusive to me on a daily basis and has been physically abusive in the past. My father has also kicked me out of his house before leaving me with nowhere to go but on the streets. I am mostly publicly out of the closet in a small conservative town and the people here have been incredibly hostile towards me. I do not feel safe in my home and am requesting money to help me relocate to a safer state and a safer living situation. I have a part-time job but due to the limited amount of job opportunities in this area and my lack of transportation, I am only barely scraping by each month and therefore don't have much money to save up. I have been looking for either a second job or a better paying job for about a year and a half to no avail. I am in the process of getting my drivers license but I do not have the money to buy a car or pay the gas and insurance costs, meaning I am basically locked in place.
