Rubi’s Story

Heartache as I write this—Rubi was a fighter. Rubi’s journey started in a heartbreaking way. She was found in a box outside a McDonald’s in Los Angeles with her two brothers. I adopted her when she was just four months old, and for the past 3.5 years, she has been my world. Although I saved Rubi, she has saved me more.

Rubi’s belly filled with fluid, and after extensive testing, I got the news I dreaded most—Rubi had lymphoma. On top of cancer, she was also diagnosed with a chronic liver condition requiring surgery.

She beat cancer once, then it took her at 5 years old.

Rubi’s chemo, tests and treatment cost about $20k total. I’m only asking for help getting $11,111 back. 

I’ve been battling with insurance, but they’re refusing to cover it. We need help. 

Anything helps. The past few months have not been easy. Every day I miss her, it’s hard to work, and I cry almost every day. Jojo and I just need a little help getting to th next chapter without Rubi.
