Last year, I completed my first year of law school, a milestone I was incredibly proud of. Unfortunately, due to financial hardship—including the burden of a mortgage, the devastating loss of two family members, and the inability to secure steady employment—I was forced to put my education on hold. For the past six months, I have been actively applying to jobs on platforms like LinkedIn and Indeed, but despite my best efforts, I have not yet found work. As a result, I am now relying on credit cards to get by and have accumulated significant debt, all while falling behind on my mortgage payments.

On top of these challenges, I am supporting my parents as they recover from nearly 40 years in a religious cult, the same one I was raised in. They are now living with me, which has increased my household expenses, especially for utilities and basic necessities. I am doing everything I can to provide for them and myself, but the financial strain has become overwhelming.

I have always believed in handling my own challenges and have never been one to ask for handouts. However, the events of the past year have left me with no choice but to reach out for help.
