My brother Ruben was recently admitted into the hospital in the ICU unit this week. He was having severe insomnia, itching and swelling but what really prompted him to go to the ER was when he started having trouble breathing. They quickly took him in and after multiple testing/scans they found fluid in his lungs. They informed him that his kidneys have gotten worse, and would have to be admitted into the hospital for some days. They had to remove the fluid medically via thoracentesis (procedure using a needle to drain fluid from the chest cavity) everyday. He had to start dialysis immediately. They did get him stable enough and was able to be discharged yesterday. He will have to have dialysis done 3 times a week and follow a strict treatment regimen. (A little history, he was diagnosed with stage 3 kidney disease this time last year. It has now progressed to stage 5 (end-stage renal disease.) This is a new lifestyle to adjust to, but with faith and prayer we know he can make it through.

He is currently unable to work for some time.

Unfortunately, as we all know, bills, rent, and utilities don't stop because you get sick. Medical bills and monthly prescriptions are expensive as well. If you are able to donate any to him during his recovery, it will greatly be appreciated.
