Fishers’ Paradise is a family run campground, and River & Sky Music/ Camping Festival is a not-for-profit music and camping festival - Together, we have journeyed for 14 years, sustainably developing a wilderness space along the Sturgeon River to celebrate nature, camp life, and creativity in northern Ontario. This wilderness space has become a haven for avid campers to enjoy and now hosts all types of events.
Over the past few years, hard winters and spring flooding have taken a toll on the three cherished Glamp Sites, built by R&S in 2018. We have fixed and refurbished the canvas prospector tents every season; but it’s time to rebuild and reimagine these Glamp Sites to continue offering them for artist retreats, couples getaways, and the many families and folks who prefer extra comforts while camping.
The Yellow Birch Site will become a 3-season bunkie with insulated walls, a tin roof, windows, and woodstove - it is secluded in the forest and nestled by the oxbow lake. The Family Glamp Tent has fared well but needs to be elevated and set back into the woods, due to flooding - this new placement will create a more intimate vibe for guests. The Crescent Glamp Site has not been used since the entire wood frame collapsed under a heavy snow load in 2022 - we will be creating a sanctuary in that space with a pavilion for larger groups to enjoy camping together.
There is always plenty of work to do and costs involved in managing the campground and curating the festival, so we’re asking for a little help from our friends to make the Glamp Sites ready for summer 2024, and available for all to enjoy for many more years to come!
We thank everyone who’s ever visited this magical place, and especially those who keep coming back, you are our extended family ❤️
With donations over $25 dollars, names will be added for a free weekend getaway — 3 draws for each glamp site.
