Central Square Comes Through for Roxy’s Arcade Workers

Central Square is a neighborhood that shows up for its people. Right now, 18 members of the Roxy’s Arcade team need us.

The sudden closure of Roxy’s Arcade has left these workers facing an immediate loss of income. Rent is still due. Groceries, utilities, transportation, and everyday bills don’t pause when your workplace closes. Finding another job and picking up shifts takes time and these workers are being asked to piece things together with little warning.

They are the people who welcomed us, made our drinks, served our food, and helped make a night in Central Square feel special. They helped build a gathering place filled with games, music, and joy. Now we have an opportunity to return some of that care.

Where your donation goes

This fundraiser will provide direct financial support to the 18 staff members affected by the closure.

All proceeds received, after GoFundMe’s payment processing fees, will be divided equally among those 18 workers. Funds will help cover rent, groceries, utilities, transportation, and other immediate needs while they find their next opportunities.

This fundraiser supports the workers. No proceeds will go toward business expenses or reopening costs.

The Central Square Business Improvement District is organizing this effort because the people who power our neighborhood’s restaurants, bars, and nightlife are part of our community and they deserve our support when an unexpected crisis puts their livelihoods at risk.
