Help Roxxy Heal: Surgery and Therapy Support
Donation protected
TL;DR
I’m having thyroid surgery in August and may be unable to work for 6–12 weeks. I should be able to talk again after about 3 weeks, but it’ll take longer to fully perform and get my voice back. The growing nodules are affecting my breathing, eating, and overall health. I’m raising $16K to cover medical costs, lost income, and care for my daughter. I just want to heal and get back to performing and making the content I love. You can donate or support by buying merch at The Roxxy Haze Store. Thank you for anything you can give or share. I appreciate it all.

The Full Story
Hey y’all. This is hard to write, but I’m asking for help.
I’m having thyroid surgery at the end of August and won’t be able to speak for several weeks. At the same time, I’m in physical therapy for a herniated disc in my back. It’s been tough balancing healing, parenting, and trying to stay afloat—especially since my voice is literally how I work. Stand-up, music, content creation, voice acting—my voice is everything.
I’ve actually been dealing with this thyroid issue for at least 2–3 years, maybe longer. It was first brought to my attention by viewers when I was on All the Single Ladies on OWN. Some of the comments were just rude, calling me fat, ugly—but a few people were genuinely concerned and pointed out a visible goiter in my neck. That’s when I realized something might really be wrong.

Since then, it’s been a long, exhausting process. Back and forth between doctors and specialists, trying to get clear answers, while also dealing with insurance issues and the cost of care. I haven’t talked much about it publicly, but it’s been a lot. And now, the nodules have grown to the point where they’re affecting my breathing, eating, weight, and energy. This surgery isn’t optional anymore—it’s something I need to literally breathe.
Some people might be thinking, “Just get a job.” I hear you. I’ve always had jobs—in and out of the creative industry. Recently, I was working in the cannabis industry as a brand ambassador—driving to different locations, setting up tables and displays. But because of the herniated disc in my back, I physically can’t do labor-heavy work right now. I’ve been applying to remote jobs, but it’s been tough—especially balancing that with being a single parent and managing pain.
Most of my immediate family has passed, but my brother is flying in to help. He’s a parent too, so he’ll only be able to stay a few days. I’ll still need support with everyday stuff—bills, food, transportation for my daughter, and help around the house while I heal.
I’ve set the goal at $16,000, to help cover:
- Medical expenses
- Rent and basic living expenses while I recover
- Lost income from canceled shows, content, and voice work
- Transportation and care for my daughter
- Emergency and backup costs
This took me a long time to put together. I’m honestly embarrassed. I don’t like asking for help or being vulnerable like this, but I don’t have many options right now. I just want to heal properly so I can keep performing, creating, and doing what I love. I just want to get back to myself.
If you’re able to give—thank you. If not, you can also support by buying merch at The Roxxy Haze Store or sharing this with someone who might be able to help.
Thank you for rocking with me through the fun, the weird, and now the hard part. I can’t wait to come back—stronger, healthier, louder, and sillier than ever.
With love and gratitude,
Roxxy
