Help Roxie Rebuild After Scam Eviction
Donation protected
Roxie Baker is a divorced, single mom who was the unfortunate victim of a housing scam that has left her and her three young children homeless.
On a rainy day in May, Roxie received a call at work from a neighbor stating that a sheriff was at her home and her belongings were being removed and placed in the backyard. By the time she got home, most of their belongings had been damaged or stolen, including a TV, clothes, toys, books, and furniture. She was able to salvage two kids' mattresses, some clothing, and a few personal and pantry items. Roxie and her children are staying with family members temporarily. They are seeking housing and will need to replace most of their belongings.
Roxie learned that she had rented the townhome from a man who was not the rightful owner. The actual owner had obtained an eviction order, and her 'landlord' was a scammer that stole over $15,000 from her. Most importantly, he stole her security and ability to provide for her children.
Roxie has contacted law enforcement and other authorities to report the fraud. She now needs help obtaining housing and replacing household items. Roxie doesn't qualify for housing assistance and has limited funds to use towards rental fees, a security deposit, and other housing expenses.
All donations will go towards helping Roxie and her children obtain housing, replace furniture and necessities, and give them a secure and safe place to live.
Please help Roxie and her children rebuild. Thank you.
