02/04/2021 UPDATE

We are so appreciative to those of you who have shared our mom’s story and continued to donate in order to help her get back on her feet. The biggest bill has been covered, but more bills are rolling in from the last few months of doctors appointments. Please feel free to donate and share Roxana’s story. 

02/01/2021 UPDATE *** Hey guys, we called the hospital today to start making payments and it turns out all the bills were either written off or paid anonymously. We couldn't be more thankful for whoever decided to do this. Thank you everyone for donating and being so willing to help. ***

The week before Thanksgiving, our mom Roxana Ugarte King (Creasey) suffered a nearly fatal fall that left her with a fractured skull, with bleeding and swelling in her brain. Following the fall, our mom was placed in the neuro ICU and neuro acute care unit for a few weeks where she received great care from the staff at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City. From there, she was able to recover enough to be discharged home. She still has a long road to full recovery, but we are proud of her for the strength she has shown. We are so thankful that she is still here with us.

Leading up to this accident, Roxana had been recently divorced and was working full time and also going to school full time. One of her dreams is to be a mechanic who works on planes. Prior to her injury, she only had two semesters left of schooling. Unfortunately, she was unable to finish her program due to her hospitalization but despite this major setback, she continues to set an incredible example for us by persevering through difficult times. She hopes to continue her plane mechanic program later this year.

Due to her brain injury and the consequences associated with her fall, she has been left unable to work for the last couple of months. Where she does not currently have medical benefits, she has been left with a bill of more than $100,000. We are asking for help to cover this overwhelming cost.
