Rowina and Mohammad Alamyar need our help! On Friday, May 2, 2025, their apartment was gutted with extensive water and smoke damage from a catastrophic fire in their apartment complex in Vancouver, Washington.
An adjacent apartment was completely destroyed by fire and claimed the life of that resident.
This young married couple have built a new life in the US after fleeing violence in their home country of Afghanistan. They are active in their community through work and school and have worked hard to integrate into American life.
Unfortunately, the Alamyar’s do not have renter’s insurance, and their only possessions are the clothes as they escaped the fire in the middle of the night. They have lost every single thing they own.
They are currently homeless and are seeking an affordable apartment. They are using their own savings to cover the cost of a modest hotel while they find a new place to live.
Rowina and Mohammad will need financial support to help them secure a different apartment, furnishings, and household goods. Rowina, who is learning English, lost all of her school supplies. They will need to replace their clothing and basic care items.
Please join me in helping Rowina and Mohammad get back on their feet. Let’s show them that when bad things happen, their community will be there to support them.
Thank you!
