I'm writing to you today with a heavy heart and a humble request for assistance. On March 29, 2024, my life took an unexpected and difficult turn when I received a diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). This led to three grueling months of intensive inpatient treatment, from April 2nd to July 5th. The experience was incredibly challenging, both physically and emotionally, for myself and my family. My husband who is also battling cancer is already retired and earning $734 every month and also taking care of our 15yr old son was my unwavering rock throughout this ordeal, tirelessly driving me to appointments and providing constant care.

After my treatment, I was granted a six-month medical leave of absence from my job. Unfortunately, despite my continued need for recovery time, my employment was terminated on November 5, 2024, as my employer was unable to accommodate a further extension of my leave. While I am currently receiving disability benefits through EDD, these funds are insufficient to cover my essential living expenses, including rent, utilities, and food, especially with the looming expiration date of April 5, 2025.

Facing these significant financial challenges while still recovering from AML, I find myself in a precarious position. I'm reaching out to you, hoping that you might be able to offer your support during this critical time. Any contribution, no matter how small, would be deeply appreciated and would help alleviate some of the immense financial burden I am currently shouldering.
