Help Rowdy See Again
Donation protected

Earlier this winter, my brother Brady noticed his Jack Russel starting to display different behaviors. Rowdy was more sleepy, having stiff joints, drinking lots of water and noticed he was starting to lose his hearing and vision. Brady took Rowdy, his dog, to the vet. Turns out, Rowdy had two different tick diseases. Lyme's disease and Ehrlichiosis. He was put on an antibiotic for a month to try to treat these tick diseases. Sadly, he was not getting any better. He was still drinking lots of water, lost his ability to control his bladder and was puking up whatever he was trying to eat. So Brady took him back to the vet again and found out both of these tick diseases had caused Rowdy to develop diabetes! Within the first two weeks of finding out Rowdy had diabetes, he developed cataracts and started to quickly loose his eye site. One morning Rowdy woke up and was 100% blind. This has been very heartbreaking for Rowdy and for Brady to watch. Especially considering his body was starting to feel better but he just can't hear or see anything. Now Rowdy hears Brady shoot his pellet gun and he tries to run around with excitement but can't see, causing him to run into walls, chairs, or dangerous things like the fireplace. The frustration in Rowdy not being able to see is wearing on Rowdy and my brothers heart.
We all know this past year has been so hard on everyone. Hoping and praying there are some kind, loving dog lovers who are able to give what they can, please. The soonest Rowdy could get into the ophthalmologist is on May 12, 2021. This initial visit will be around $400 and then after that the surgery is estimated at $4000 for both eyes to try and remove the cataracts so he can hopefully see again and continue living his life to the fullest. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Kindness Matters.
