Rowan is our 3-month-old baby boy, and he’s facing a challenge that no parent ever wants for their child. He was born with a genetic condition called 22q11.2 deletion syndrome (Di-George syndrome), which has led to a serious heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot. Because of this, Rowan has been experiencing frequent spells of low oxygen, and his doctors have decided to move his open heart surgery from August to May 12th to give him the urgent care he needs.

As parents, we’re doing everything we can to support Rowan and make sure he gets the best care possible. The surgery is two hours away at Children’s Mercy, and we’ll need to cover travel, lodging, and time away from work so we can be by his side throughout his recovery. It will also be used to cover medical expenses. This is a difficult time for our family, and we’re reaching out for help because we truly need it.

We don’t usually ask for help, but right now, every bit of kindness means more than we can put into words. Whether you’re able to support us through prayers, positive thoughts, sharing our story, or helping in a practical way, it would take a huge weight off our shoulders as we focus on being there for Rowan.
