Hi everyone! My name is Rowan and the girl in the picture is my best friend, Olivia. She has many complex health issues and disabilities, including gastroparesis and intestinal dysmotility, which has caused her to lose the ability to tolerate nutrition by mouth or through a feeding tube. For the past year, she has been dependent on TPN, which is nutritional life support that is delivered through a central line in her heart. Recently, she has developed an allergy to TPN, leading to rapid malnutrition. She will be hospitalized within the next few days, as this condition could quickly become life-threatening. Without proper treatment, her life is in danger, and it is unclear at this time if her doctors will be able to come up with a solution for this. I am raising money to purchase myself a plane ticket to fly out to New York City, where she lives, to stay with her while she is in the hospital and during her recovery.
