Help Rowan London recover from serious illness

To many people around the world, Rowan London is a beloved composer and musician. To me, he is my brother.

I woke in April 2020 at 3am to a call no loving big sister wants to receive - Rowan had been taken by ambulance to the Intensive Care Unit with serious symptoms indicating a medical issue in his brain. He was placed on a ventilator in an induced coma while they ran tests and it was discovered he had meningococcal disease, a rare and life-threatening infection in the brain. Had he not been taken to the hospital at that time, it is likely he would not have survived.

Since then, Rowan's recovery has been long and painful. Still, he continues to inspire those around him with his ability to persevere despite the dire circumstances and approaches his diagnosis with strength and humour.

The right attitude can only get you so far, though. While Rowan is first and foremost a musician, like many in the industry, he relies on additional work to fund both his 'normal life' and his musical passions. As a self-employed contractor, his financial situation has suffered tremendously with medical bills and significant time unable to work because of ongoing issues resulting from the disease, particularly severe headaches, dizziness, nausea and fatigue.

I know there are many caring people worldwide who would hate to think of his suffering and, if they knew, would ask how they could help. If you are one of them, please consider donating to help Rowan recover financially from his illness and give him the ability to take the time he needs to continue to recover from the physical and mental toll it has taken on his life.

Although Rowan is uncomfortable with a fundraiser, I have been insistent and he has given me his blessing to proceed. I hope we can show him how much his fans, friends and family care for him and want to see him back on his feet (and in front of a microphone!).
