Rowan Lindamood, my son, is a 17 year old pre-professional ballet dancer. He qualified to participate in one of the most prestigious ballet competitions in the world, the Prix de Lausanne, in Switzerland. This year there were 425 applicants (333 girls and 92 boys) from 43 countries who sent their videos.

In total, 88 dancers (44 girls and 44 boys) from 19 countries were selected to take part in the Prix de Lausanne 2024. He is one of 7 boys chosen to represent the United States in the competition.

Taking part in such a prestigious competition is a life-changing experience. Winners are awarded scholarships to continue their training at renowned ballet schools in America and Europe, plus funds to cover a year worth of living expenses, or offered company contracts.

Being a Prix de Lausanne competitor can open the doors to a career as a professional dancer at many major ballet companies.

He has studied at Neglia Ballet Conservatory for 8 years and is so grateful for their incredible training. The staff at Neglia calculated that in the course of one calendar year, we drive more than the circumference of the earth to get to ballet and home. It's true, we drive 150 miles to and from the studio 6 days a week. It's totally worth it, though. Neglia is incredible.

He's the youngest of five brothers. His family supports him but this is a big commitment that's hard to plan for. Nobody is guaranteed acceptance into the competition and it's a real honour to have been selected.

Your donations will help cover costs of the travel, food, costumes, coach's expenses, and additional training needed in order to compete. Campaign Details:

"Help Rowan Lindamood compete at Prix de Lausanne" is a GoFundMe campaign organized by Rebecca Lindamood, Rowan's mother.

All funds collected through this campaign will be used to cover the cost of airplane tickets, transportation once in Switzerland, and food expenses for Rowan, his mother, and his coach as well as expenses for the additional training needed prior to the competition, any studio rental time needed in Switzerland, and costuming needed for the competition.

Since Rowan is a minor, all funds obtained in this campaign will be used by his mother to pay for those expenses incurred by his participation in Prix de Lausanne.
