Urgent Help Needed for Rowan

Update on Rowan 8/15

Rowan made it through his 3-hour surgery yesterday . He lost a significant amount of blood from the deep lacerations to his neck.

Right now, he’s heavily sedated and will remain that way for the next 3–4 days to keep him calm and prevent stress on his injuries. His skin was torn so far away from the underlying tissue, muscle, and fascia that it created dangerous air pockets under his skin.

The most severe laceration on his neck involves three different layers of tissue — because of this, there’s a higher risk of tissue decay and improper healing, so the next few days are critical.

We are beyond grateful he’s still with us, but his fight isn’t over. Your donations are helping cover his emergency care, ongoing treatments, and follow-up procedures to give him the best chance at recovery. 8/14 Today, my sweet mini dachshund Rowan—who was calmly walking on his leash by my side—was attacked by two German Shepherds. It was the most terrifying and traumatic moment of life.

Rowan is now in emergency surgery. The vets estimate his surgery and care will cost between $6,000 and $8,000. As much as it pains me to ask, I can’t cover this alone. The owner of the dogs is refusing to communicate with me. I’m reaching out to my friends, family, and community for help in any way possible.

Rowan is not just a dog—he’s my baby, my heart, my constant companion. He’s full of love, personality, and joy, and he deserves the chance to keep living the happy life he’s always had.
