Help Rosy See Again: Cataract Surgery Fund
Donation protected
Ahoy! My name is Compass Rose, but everyone calls me Rosy. Sometimes she calls me Bumpy (no idea why!). Her name is Roxy, and she's a sailor who has the great honor of skippering a lovely classic sailing yacht in New York. She and I live aboard the boat from May to October and then go home to Waterlily, a little island in North Carolina, for the winter.
I love living aboard the boat with her—it's really fun—we sail, row a little boat, and run on the beach or ashore in the woods. I meet friends all day long in the boatyard, in town, or out on the water.
Early in the summer, I started bumping into things, and twice I flew right off the dock. I was running and didn't see the dock edge. At night, I fall off the curb and bump into things. It got so bad that we went to see a veterinary ophthalmologist. She found that I have cataracts in both eyes, and it's making it really hard for me to see. They can be corrected, and here is where you—all my friends—could really help out. It's pretty costly, but almost half the cost if I get it done at home rather than in NY. I would be so grateful for any help that you can give. I want to see again!
