I'm $36,183.40 in debt — $27,236.78 spread across eight credit cards, $5,973.58 in student loans, and $2,973.04 in medical bills. I've been documenting this whole thing secretly on TikTok because it was easier to be honest with strangers than with the people in my life who don't know yet.
Some of this was ordinary overspending, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. But a lot of it traces back to two things that hit us back to back. First, about a year ago, my fiancée lost their job because of a medical condition that took most of this past year to get under control. We just got to the other side of that. Then, what was supposed to be a simple, routine surgery turned into a 3-day hospital stay — the kind of complication nobody plans for or budgets for. For a stretch, we were down to one income while medical costs kept coming in, and the credit cards became the thing that filled the gap between paychecks and bills.
I'm not asking anyone to hand me a clean slate. I already pledge money out of my own pocket for every new follower and every engagement I get — half a cent per follower, a tenth of a cent per like/comment/share — and I built a live tracker so anyone can watch it happen in real time, no trust required. That page shows every debt, every payment, every day since I started. This isn't a "trust me" ask. What it doesn't cover is the gap between what I can personally pledge and what actually clears these balances at double-digit interest rates. That's what this fund is for. Every dollar that comes in goes straight to whichever balance has the highest interest rate that week, and it'll show up on the tracker the same day — you can go check.
If you can give, thank you. If you can't, watching this actually go to zero and sharing it with someone else means just as much.
