Help Ross and Janie Rebuild After Devastating Fire

Donation protected
All their lives, Ross and Janie Kastrinos have struggled to provide a better future for their kids, and themselves. But last week, the struggle to stay afloat hit a breaking point when their house caught fire in the middle of the night. They were lucky to escape undamaged.

The truest form of hard-working class Americans, they’ve always taken pride in their work, their home, and their community. If anyone ever tried giving them things for free, or favors, they would flatly refuse. And they’ve always worked hard to prove it. With every setback, they always worked hard to overcome it.

This summer, they needed treatment and then lost their beloved dog. They pushed forward. Health issues climbed, but there was no time to take off work. Ross developed a life-threatening kidney infection. He was back to work that week, still in debilitating pain, and on the morning of October 23rd… their beloved home caught fire.

Initial estimates said it would be $40,000 to repair. Then that number ballooned to $80,000. Now it could be up to $200,000… while their insurance company remains silent on what they’re willing to contribute. By current estimates, they won’t be able to return home for an entire year while work takes place. And in the meantime, Ross and Janie are displaced, still struggling with health and work, and they don’t know what the future will hold, or how they can overcome it.

They’ve always been the hardest-working people I know, have poured their hearts and bodies into everything they do, and never stopped fighting to give them and their kids the best life they could have ever imagined. They’ve never been willing to ask for help, but in the face of this devastation, they need all the help they can get.

They’re not done fighting with their all, even now. But for the first time ever, they’re asking for support in the face of this impossible setback. The road to recovery from this feels insurmountable. If you could help them even towards 1% peace of mind while my parents seek temporary housing, pay their deductible, and afford the costs of moving any surviving furniture, etc to rebuild their lives, it would mean the world. Thank you for your time.
