Hi everyone,
I’m starting this GoFundMe for my cousin Alex Wesley and her partner Ross Wigle during one of the most heartbreaking and overwhelming times of their lives.
They live in Ear Falls, Ontario, and for quite some time, Ross has been feeling unwell. What began as concern has quickly turned into something no one ever expects to face. Ross has now been hospitalized in Dryden for nearly two weeks, and doctors have found multiple serious and widespread concerns on imaging. He is being transferred to Thunder Bay for further testing, biopsies, and specialist care to determine exactly what is going on.
While there has not yet been an official diagnosis, doctors have shared that it is looking like advanced, stage 4 cancer with metastases. The uncertainty, waiting, and fear surrounding this has been absolutely devastating.
Ross is only 41 years old.
He is not just a patient — he is a brother, a son, and a father. He is deeply loved, and his absence from everyday life is being felt in ways words can’t describe. Alex has been by his side through every moment, trying to stay strong while watching the person she loves face something so frightening and unknown.
On top of this medical crisis, both Alex and Ross have recently lost their jobs due to the mill closure. They are now facing long hospital stays, frequent travel, accommodations, meals, and daily living expenses — all while trying to emotionally survive something that has turned their world upside down.
No one should have to choose between being with the person they love and worrying about how they’re going to afford life.
Right now, their only focus should be on Ross’s care, their family, and making it through each day — not on financial stress.
If you are able to donate, share, or keep them in your thoughts and prayers, it would mean more than words can express. Every bit of support helps lift some of the weight they are carrying.
Thank you so much for reading, caring, and standing with them during this unimaginable time.
