Help Rosina in the fight for her life
This year will be different. On Monday, November 22nd, she was rushed to the hospital after several days of being unwell. Things escalated quickly and before we could fly home, she underwent emergency surgery to save her life.
She pulled through and by Sunday morning the three of us had made it her side. This was the first of many miracles. Today, she finally woke up and was able to speak to us!
Over the past week, there have been literally hundreds of messages from family and friends offering to help in whatever way they can. These expressions of solidarity and love are behind our decision to reach out for financial support through this campaign.
While doctors are impressed by her body’s resilience, her stay in intensive care will be a long one. As a family, we are starting to plan for the next phase. Her recovery will not be be easy and it will include drastic changes to her lifestyle and to her level of financial productivity.
One of our mother’s favorite phrases is from a passage in the Bible, “what you sow is what you reap”. Today, she reaps all the love and solidarity that she has sown.
Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude and we are humbled by the kindness that surrounds us.
