Yesterday, our family experienced something no one is ever prepared for—a house fire that completely displaced my sister, Rosie, and her family. Thankfully, everyone made it out safely, which is the only reason we can even write this with some peace of mind. While they do have insurance, the reality is that recovery takes time—and right now, they are facing immediate, out-of-pocket expenses just to get through the next few weeks and months. They are currently staying in a camper while figuring out next steps. In just the first 24 hours, we’ve already had to replace essential items, including emergency prescription refills, basic clothing for work and daily life, toiletries, food and groceries, bedding, and essential household items like a washer and dryer.
The funds raised will go directly toward helping my sister and her family cover immediate, out-of-pocket expenses after losing their home to a fire. This includes replacing essential items like clothing, medications, food, bedding, and basic household needs, as well as helping them stay afloat while they wait for insurance to process and reimburse these costs. This support will ease the financial pressure during an already overwhelming time and give them the ability to focus on rebuilding their lives rather than worrying about day-to-day survival.
To anyone considering helping—thank you. Truly. Whether through a donation or simply sharing this with others, your support means more than we can put into words and makes a real difference for their family right now.
