My name is Casey. I am an artist and first-year Kindergarten teacher working and teaching in Brooklyn, NY. I am raising funds to pay off the bill for my senior rescue Chihuahua, Rosie. Rosie was adopted from Louie's Legacy back in 2020 when her owner passed away in Tennessee. For her, age is just a number! She is spunky, loves playing with big dogs, and has a big personality. She also has survived teeth removal and a mammary tumor shortly after her adoption. Rosie was showing signs of lethargy, a super fast heart rate, and she was vomiting on Friday, Jan 2. I rushed her to the animal hospital where they stabilized her and are currently conducting tests to see what the cause of her symptoms is. I hope we will find the reason for her sudden illness, but right now all the tests and hospital stay are racking up into a giant bill.

As a first-year Kindergarten teacher who is currently finishing up her Master's degree in Early Childhood Education and Students with Disabilities at Bank Street School of Education as a scholarship student, I am low on funds. I turn to you, my community, for help in these tight times. I often give my time as a foster of rescue dogs in Brooklyn, and I also have a second dog, Koda, who was a foster fail. Rosie herself was from a foster-based rescue and wasn't being adopted due to her neurological wobble and bad teeth. We love her dearly, and she has inspired us by showing us how strong she can be through all the adversities. If you have anything to give to help, it would mean the world to us.
