I’ve asked Rosie to go give me permission to share her situation with our community in order to help support her and her family through this difficult time.
Rosemary has spent several weeks away from her husband and children as their entire world suddenly stopped turning the day her mama became ill. Since then Rosie has been at the hospital by her mother’s side, day and night.
On April 9th her mother Flor Maria or best known to us as “Florecita” suffered a
hemorrhagic stroke, affecting the right side of her brain and leaking to her left side.
Florecita currently requires intensive care from the doctors and nurses. She is currently in a coma-like condition. There is no guarantee that she will soon wake up. She could be this way for months and as you can imagine this is heart breaking to her children and family.
Florecita needs to be transferred to a skilled nursing facility for rehabilitation. How ever due to issues with her Advanced Directives and other medical/insurance legalities, Rosie is finding herself having to make a rushed decision for the best care possible for her mom.
Because Florecita had not yet retired from the career she loved, her family lacked Social Security and Medicare support when this happened, resulting in great financial distress.
Below, please find these love filled words Rosie shared about her mom.
”She is filled with joy, with a loud, contagious laugh. She loves Jesus and worked as a missionary in El Salvador visiting the sick for years. She works at Simpson Memorial home which she loved all her co-workers and residents dearly.”
”She is an amazing mother, sister, and grandmother....and a loving member of the West Liberty community.”
There is a lot of steps that need taken in order for her children to help her get the best coverage and medical care she needs.
They need help to cover costs for her ongoing care and medical costs as she will have a long recovery ahead.
Therefore, I ask that you please consider helping them out. Any monetary donation is welcomed and appreciated. If you aren’t not able to provide financial support and if you know the family or live near them, please reach out and see what other ways to help them through this difficult time there may be. Even keeping Florecita and her family in your prayers is of such great help.

Florecita necesita ser trasladada a un centro de enfermería especializada para recibir rehabilitación. Sin embargo, debido a problemas relacionados con sus Directivas Anticipadas y a otros trámites legales y de seguros médicos, Rosie se ve obligada a tomar una decisión apresurada para asegurar la mejor atención posible para su madre.
Dado que Florecita aún no se había jubilado de la profesión que tanto amaba, su familia carecía del respaldo del Seguro Social y de Medicare en el momento en que ocurrió este suceso, lo cual ha derivado en una grave situación de angustia financiera.
