The essentials that many take for granted—shelter, a warm meal, and a change of clothes—are now my main priorities as I try to rebuild my life from the ground up. Replacing these basics is a slow process, and the uncertainty of each day is overwhelming.

I am in touch with my father, who is in America, and I have limited communication with my grandparents here in Jamaica, as they are also struggling in the aftermath of the hurricane. Unfortunately, my local community is facing similar hardships, and there is little support available. I am reaching out for help so I can begin to rebuild and regain some stability.
