Hello, My name is Laiza Fernandez, and I am creating this GoFundMe for my mother-in-law, Rosevelyne Charles. On November 1st, 2025, Rosevelyne was driving to work at 4:00 am as per usual on US-1 when a drunk driver traveling northbound crossed into the southbound lanes and struck her head-on. The impact was catastrophic, and she was airlifted to the hospital with multiple spinal fractures, a broken ankle, broken fibula, brain bleed, several broken ribs, a liver laceration, and a broken sternum. Anyone who knows Rosevelyne knows the type of woman she is- a deeply loving, generous, compassionate, and incredibly hardworking mother and grandmother. She is the kind of person who always puts others first, offers a helping hand without hesitation, and greets everyone with warmth and kindness. Rosevelyne took pride in her independence and worked tirelessly, driving to and from the Florida Keys for work every day to provide for herself and her family. Now, her life has drastically changed. She is unable to work or care for herself independently and will require admission to an inpatient rehabilitation facility once discharged from the hospital, where she will undergo extensive physical and occupational therapy. This sudden tragedy has created overwhelming emotional and financial hardship, including the loss of her only source of income, the total loss of her vehicle, and mounting medical expenses that will continue throughout her long recovery.
