On Sept 15th, 2021 my girlfriend and I were at dinner while on vacation in California when she suffered a ruptured congenital brain aneurysm and subarachnoid hemorrhage leading to a hemorrhagic stroke. After being stabilized at the ER in Santa Rosa, CA she was flown by helicopter to Fremont, CA where her incredible neurosurgeon performed the 8hr+ brain surgery to save her life. She was in a medically induced coma for two weeks during which she also suffered from vasospasm and was again saved by her neurosurgeon and incredible team of doctors and nurses. After she woke up/was extubated she spent weeks in ICU battling infection, seizure and other complications. She was moved to acute care and eventually transferred to a rehab center in San Francisco where she underwent daily physical, occupational and speech therapy. She had her cranioplasty surgery on Oct 26th and was discharged a few days later.
By the grace of God and her incredibly gifted neurosurgeon, she is on the road to recovery but is still in California until she is cleared to return home to Maryland. Her family flew out to San Francisco Sept 16th, the day of her surgery, and has been staying in hotels so that they can be with her throughout this entire time while she has been in the hospital/rehab. This fundraiser is to help cover medical bills for my girlfriend as well as the significant hotel and rental car costs her family has incurred during their time there. Any contribution helps and your generosity, support and prayers are deeply appreciated by me and her family.
Sincerely,
