Help Rosemary Rebuild and Recover from the Los Angeles Fires

My friend Rosemary lost her home to the tragic LA fires. Please help her rebuild and recover.

Beloved by all who know her, Rosemary Wilson is a woman who truly contains multitudes. She directs the volunteer services department at the Kaiser Permanente hospital in West Los Angeles, where her smile and laughter are known throughout the building, as she introduces volunteers or teens through the Summer Youth training program. She is a passionate volunteer herself, supporting homeless persons, advocating for women who have suffered domestic violence, and serving on medical missions with the Alliance of Jamaican and American Humanitarians (AOJAH). And she is known as Simply Rose--her stage name--when singing at the Rosenthal Wine Bar in Malibu, Whiskey a Go Go, or in her theater productions.

Rosemary needs help. Her family home in Altadena was lost in the Eaton fire on January 8, 2025. She was at work when the evacuations were announced. On her way home, her sister called with the news: everything was lost.

Rosemary left for work on a Tuesday morning and will never return. She needs to start over: clothes, food, shelter, furniture, housewares, and all of the random things required to rebuild life. Before the fire, she had a small recording studio, which she also will need to build again.

In time, Los Angeles will recover. Rosemary will recover. The Rosenthal Wine Bar will be back. We will hear Rosemary singing out over the coast again. Thank you for helping us get there.

I've known her for nearly a decade: first, as a work friend who volunteers on the ethics committee I lead; second, as a lovely human who I am always overjoyed to spend time with.
