Hi my names Rosemary and I have been on medical leave for two years now after having foot surgery. After foot surgery I had physical therapy which didn’t help because they realized I have nerve damage in the foot. When tested it was discovered I had open veins in both legs and that was making it hard to heal and the swelling and pain in both legs and foot became unbearable. I was diagnosed with severe venous insufficiency and complex regional pain syndrome. I can’t walk long distances my foot and leg swells instantly leaving me limping almost every day. I’m on nerve treatment but it doesn’t seem to be helping. I have multiple medical issues since birth that have lead to a few high risk surgeries and many complications down the line. I was born with Ompholicile which is being born with the intestines outside the body and in my case also most organs as-well. It took four reconstructive surgeries to put me back together as a baby. In my adulthood I’ve had ongoing issues with my intestines ovaries and fallopian tubes. I’ve had a few surgeries and procedures to try and correct and alleviate some of the issues and severe swelling.
i am a miracle baby that has been counting my blessings. For the last year my uterus has been bleeding almost the entire month, each month. I also have inflammation and fluid retention in the fallopian tubes Called hydrosalpinx. I live with body pain. Especially abdominal and pelvic pain. I’m on so many medications that I’m currently healing from a bleeding ulcer.Because of how I was born and reconstructed I have all my intestines on the left side of my body with mal-rotation. A ladds procedure is what’s done to correct that but to have it done now as an adult is so dangerous that surgeons won’t do it unless I’m in a life threatening situation. It’s been a trying frustrating and painful two years with no financial help except food stamps.I’ve been denied twice for Social security because of my age and because I need to have a doctor sign off that I won’t be able to work for more than a year. I just found out two weeks ago that I also tested positive for BRAC 2 a genetic cancer gene affecting breast ovaries and uterus. So I was just sat down and had to make decisions on preventative treatment and surgeries. With everything going on right now it’s been advised that the best option for me is to have a complete abdominal hysterectomy. I also need to be open to the possibility of a double mastectomy down the line. My health isn’t good and I have made the decision to do the hysterectomy on December 4th because of all the current issues I’m actively having. I’m asking for help while I’m in recovery which is at a minimum two months of me being bed ridden. I have been in debt for two years unable to pay my way. I would like to be able to not worry about rent food medical supplies and basic things I need to survive. I have long ways to go and recovery won’t be easy. And after that I still have to deal with all the other things physically wrong with me. I’ve been handling everything on my own and it’s very hard but I had to accept and understand that I can’t do this alone and I need help. Anything is appreciated.
