Hello everyone, I am creating this on behalf of my girlfriend and her family, who lost their home to a major fire in Roselle, NJ.

Hi everyone,

My name is Mel Mendez and last night, a devastating fire completely destroyed our home in Roselle, NJ. My brother, sister-in-law, and their four children, including two with disabilities, and our beloved dog have found out we lost everything. The fire department states there wasn’t anything salvageable. No documents, no beds, no asthma pumps, medications. We are now left with nothing but the clothes on our backs.

Today we are facing the overwhelming challenge of finding temporary housing, replacing essential items, and providing for our children and their unique needs. Our dog, who is part of our family, cannot be helped by disaster relief, also needs care during this time.

We are reaching out with hope and humility, asking for help to cover essentials like clothing, food, toiletries, bedding, temporary housing, transportation, and basic necessities as we begin to rebuild our lives. Any donation, no matter how small, will make a huge difference and bring hope to our family in this dark moment.
