Help Rose (@rose_d_luna) Recover and Thrive Again!

Thank you all for clicking the link. This is a fundraiser for Rose DF, or @rose_d_luna on Threads, created by her friends. If you know or follow her, you know she was recently summarily fired. But that's not the only reason for this fundraiser.

If you also know Rose, she is an incredible fighter and survivor who has exhibited truly incredible resilience following abuse, homelessness, scraping and working all sorts of jobs to save and to put herself through school, all while a single mom. Through her knowledge, skills, grit and tenacity, she landed a position at NASA where not the sky, but the whole universe, was her only limit.

More recently, however, she has dealt with major health challenges such as a very recent bout with severe pneumonia that landed her in the hospital. Those bills are still coming and she is still recovering, which has brought up concerns about a potential cancer recurrence. She is exploring options for insurance, but no longer has coverage. There remain bills to pay and of course she has other recurring monthly expenses.

Beyond all of this, those who know anything about Rose know that she is hardworking, honest as they come, an excellent science communicator, a celebrated speaker and a published children’s book writer. Rose also makes time for her community, especially ensuring and supporting opportunities for children like her, with natural curiosity and a love of science, to explore and reach beyond their small worlds into the larger arenas of STEM and the ultimate frontier of space.

Please consider supporting her to get through this difficult time and to help cover her medical bills and other expenses. The amount is based on estimates of these upcoming medical bills along with known fixed expenses, over the next 6-8 months.
