I am reaching out during an unexpected and urgent medical situation. I was recently diagnosed with a retinal detachment in my left eye, which required immediate intervention to prevent permanent vision loss. I have already undergone an emergency procedure and am scheduled for a second surgery (vitrectomy and scleral buckle) on April 11 at Allenmore Hospital. Due to this sudden medical emergency, I have had to step away from work to focus on recovery and protecting my vision. As a nurse, I am used to caring for others, but this experience has required me to pause and care for myself.
