We are Ashleigh and Casey, and we are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your support. We are raising funds to help our dear friend Rose and her family cover the unexpected and overwhelming expenses following the tragic loss of her father, Roger.
On Sunday, December 8th, Roger and his son-in-law were on their way home when the driver lost control of the vehicle, leading to a devastating crash.
Roger was initially transported to Norwich Backus Hospital and later airlifted to Hartford Hospital in Connecticut. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, the extent of Roger’s injuries was catastrophic. He suffered multiple life-threatening injuries, including a crushed brain stem, severe head fractures, major brain bleeding, a blood clot in his leg, broken ribs, and a collapsed lung. He was placed on life support, but tragically, his brain activity remained minimal to none.
Rose received the heartbreaking news that her father would not survive.
Roger was a beacon of love, laughter, and kindness. He was a devoted father, son, and grandfather who found joy in every moment spent with his family. His grandchildren, Katelyn and Lucas, were his pride and joy. Roger and Lucas shared countless cherished moments watching wrestling, playing outside, and building model cars together. With Katelyn, he was her loudest cheerleader at her cheerleading events, always present in the stands with unwavering support. One of their most special memories was this past Thanksgiving when Roger taught Katelyn how to cook the family’s turkey — a tradition that will live on in her heart forever.
After many difficult conversations with Roger’s medical team, Rose and her family have made the unimaginable decision to take him off life support within the next two days. Their hearts are broken, but they are determined to honor him with the dignity and peace he deserves.
We humbly ask for your support. Any donation, big or small, will help Rose and her family lay Roger to rest and ease the financial burden during this profoundly painful time. Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and generosity.
