***Please be discreet as we are trying to keep this as a surprise for them when they go.***
***Retired colleagues in need.***
Our wonderful and loving friends Pete and Rose have taken another hit, and this time they have to go home to deal with it.
Dear friends of the Conservation community, Peter and Rose, have taken another blow. Any of you who know them will know that they are both as close to champions of the local conservation movement, as wonderfully friendly, and as incredibly un-lucky as a couple can come.
After a different -but just as worrying- previous health scare, then a recent bout of very expensive ventures into the welfare of their beloved Grand-children, they've taken another blow in the form of some terrible news relating to Rose's health and longevity.
In short, Rose has been given a much shorter time frame than any of us would like. Terrible news in what should be her golden years.
Not bad enough in itself, it means selling up to be able to afford to make a move back to Rose's home in Queensland, where she has decided she would like to be, to spend her winter out near her family and with her loving husband Peter.
Setting up on arrival is going to mean blowing what little funds remain, replacing household items that can't be taken.
Our wish is to help them out financially, in order to ease the pressures of setting up in a new state, but we can't do much alone. We're hoping their story will inspire you to help us to help them, financially, when they get there.
***No donation is too small!***
We know times are tough, and any pittance you can afford will go a long way towards a better total.
Pete and Rose are retirees with minimal assets and no real money to speak of, who are giving up a long history of local memories to make this move, leaving many a friend and loved one behind. We hope you can find it in your heart to donate.
Long standing members of the Conservation and Bush Firefighting communities of the last Jarrah scarp in Australia, and beloved members of the Dwellingup community, they will be well missed by all.
They are bravely looking at this Tree Change as "...the adventure left in front of us...", and to date are moving forward smiling broadly at fate.
***Their plan is to leave in as soon as a couple of weeks, so don't hesitate, donate now and help us to 'Help Rose go home'***
Thank you very much for considering our friends Peter and Rose, and their (Secret!) 'GoFundMe page.
Kind Regards, the friends of P&R.
