In lieu of flowers, Mom Phyllis's expressed wish was to establish a fund supporting My Lighthouse Elder Care Facility.

Hi, my name is Rosalyn Borja, a certified nursing assistant (CNA) and Residential Care Facility for Elderly Care (RCFE) Administrator License holder. I am commonly known as Rose. Initially, I worked as a 5-hour weekday caregiver for Mom Phyllis while pursuing my RN prerequisites at MSJC (Community College). My work gradually increased to 8 hours, a schedule I maintained for nearly 4 years. Following the unexpected passing of her daughter Mary in 2021, I assumed the roles of full-time primary caregiver to Mom Phyllis with 24/7 caregiving assistance, along with her three lovely daughters rotating weekends to provide full-time care, plus extra help from other caregivers (Stephanie S., Tammy J., Mary A.). I am committed to caring for her as promised to my sister Mary, until her eventual passing.

Presently, I hold an administrator's license for RCFE, which will facilitate my future plans to establish an elderly care business. I am not only a caregiver to them; we also developed a strong friendship and prayer partnership. Mom Phyllis, Mary, and I collectively referred to ourselves as the three musketeers, sharing laughter, tears, and joyful moments in our lives. We mutually enjoyed dining out after Mom Phyllis' doctor appointments, taking pictures, recording videos, telling stories (for Mary's grand-babies), and most importantly, sharing our spiritual faith with each other.

Mom Phyllis Lorenz, whom I referred to as my spiritual mom, and Mary Simpson, her daughter (who adopted me as her sister), inspired me to establish my own elderly care business. However, this home, which I named "MY LIGHTHOUSE," is in memory of Mom Phyllis, whom I cared for over 8 years and 4 months. She consistently encouraged me to pursue my goals and motivated me to succeed in this endeavor. In order for this vision to become a reality, my house needs to be licensed to operate. I need 3 months' worth of operational business capital to be kept in a business bank account. If I do not have this capital, I cannot move forward with 'MY LIGHTHOUSE' project for elderly care. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.
