❤️ Help Rose Fight Stage 4 Cancer, Seek Treatment & Fulfil Her Dreams

My name is Rose Thompson. I’m 42 years old, a mum, a daughter, a friend and a proud Māori woman.

I never imagined that at 42 I would be writing a story asking people for help.

But after already fighting breast cancer, I have now been given the devastating news that my cancer has returned as stage 4 metastatic, terminal and incurable breast cancer.

The cancer has spread to my lungs, bones, scalp and more than 23 areas of my skin.

My treatment continues in cycles for the rest of my life. It cannot cure my cancer, but it may slow its progression and, hopefully, give me more precious time with the people I love.

And that’s what I’m fighting for — more time. ❤️

I’m not ready to give up.

I’ve always been fiercely independent and have spent much of my life caring for other people.

For almost two years, I worked in aged care, a job I absolutely loved. Caring for residents and making a difference in their lives gave me so much purpose.

But because of the pain, exhaustion and ongoing treatment, I’ve had to leave the work I love.

Asking for financial help has been incredibly difficult for me.

But I’m not asking because I’ve given up. I’m asking because I haven’t.

I want the opportunity to explore more options

One of my biggest goals is to travel to the United States with a close friend who can support me throughout the journey.

I want the opportunity to explore additional treatment, therapies, specialist opinions and complementary approaches alongside my current oncology treatment.

I have friends who have explored treatments and alternative approaches that they believe have helped them, and I want the opportunity to investigate these options for myself with appropriate medical guidance.

This includes exploring immunotherapy and other complementary or alternative approaches, including treatments such as ivermectin, fenbendazole and methylene blue, where legally and medically appropriate.

I understand that these approaches are controversial, that they are not all approved cancer treatments, and that there are risks involved.

But this is my body, my decision and my fight.

I want the opportunity to speak with professionals, understand the potential benefits and risks, and make informed decisions about what I am prepared to try.

I know there are no guarantees.

I know nobody can promise me more time.

But while I still have the opportunity, I want to explore every reasonable option available to me.

I want to be able to say that I tried.

❤️ I also want to LIVE.

Cancer has already taken so much from me.

I don’t want it to take away every dream I still have.

If I am fortunate enough to make this journey to the USA, there are some very special things I would love to experience:

Attend an NFL game

Go to an NBA game in Los Angeles

Experience Las Vegas

✈️ Travel through the USA with a close friend and create unforgettable memories

These might sound like simple things to some people, but to me they represent something much bigger.

They represent living.

I want to laugh.

I want to make memories.

I want to experience things I’ve dreamed about.

I want more time with my family and grandchildren.

And I want to create memories that the people I love can carry with them forever.

️ I also want to protect my family

There is another reason this fundraiser is so important to me.

I want to raise enough to help cover my funeral and end-of-life expenses, so that when that day eventually comes, I don’t leave that financial burden on my son and my family.

I don’t want the people I love to be worrying about how they will pay for everything while they are grieving.

If I can put something aside now, it will be one final way I can help take care of them.

Slide XL USA is helping me fight

I have also been incredibly fortunate to receive the support of Slide XL USA, a new Australian-founded pet-mop business launching in the United States.

They have chosen to stand beside me and help raise funds for my journey.

For the first 2,000 Slide XL mop sales, Slide XL USA will donate $20 USD from every mop sold directly towards my fundraiser.

That’s potentially up to $40,000 USD donated if all 2,000 mops are sold.

So even if you aren’t able to make a direct donation, purchasing a Slide XL can help contribute to my fight.

Please help me make the most of the time I have

My goal is $50,000 USD.

The money raised will help with:

* Travel to the United States
* Treatment options, therapies and specialist consultations
* Medical and treatment-related expenses
* ✈️ Flights, accommodation and travel associated with treatment
* ❤️ Everyday living costs while I am unable to work
* ‍‍‍ Creating precious memories with my family
* Attending an NFL game
* Attending an NBA game in Los Angeles
* Visiting Las Vegas
* ️ Setting aside funds towards my funeral and end-of-life expenses

If you can donate $5, $10, $20 or more, every contribution means something to me.

If you can’t donate, please share my story.

You never know who might see it, share it with someone else, or be able to help.

To everyone who has already supported me through Givealittle, donated, shared my story, sent messages, checked in on me or simply thought of me — thank you.

Your kindness has meant more than I can put into words.

I still have a fight ahead of me.

And I’m going to keep fighting.

But I also want to live, love, laugh, travel and make memories while I can.

Thank you for helping me do that. ❤️

With love and gratitude,

Rose Thompson ❤️
