Hi!
My name's Harvey, and I've set this up on behalf of myself and my partner, Rose. We're a couple of disabled queer folks from Columbus, Ohio, and with a lot of hardships this year medically for myself, incidents in our home raising our bills exponentially (a recent example being having to run space heaters due to the heat going out for 2 weeks), and generally trying to stay afloat, we've hit a period of pretty intense hardship.
Rose in particular is hitting a breaking point with a job that is causing her severe duress, leading to crisis that would have her hospitalized we could afford it. Several of our bills are due for disconnect, and we are scrambling to get the funds together for that and our rent, which has been growing more and more difficult to achieve.
I have a hard time asking for charity with being brought up to be self-sufficient at all costs, but we're hitting the end of our rope, and we're scared. We have 3 cats who would have to be rehomed if we attempted to move in with parents, and Columbus has an extremely low limit for social services, despite the cost of living here rapidly rising. We're hoping to fundraise enough for our rent and bills for one month so that Rose can quit her job and find a new one, as well as pay our utility bills + rent in the interim. I make enough to get our groceries and our other bills, and will be seeking more hours at my job in the meantime, but we just can't keep going on like this.
Any help is deeply appreciated, and below are some cat pictures to close this out.
