After battling IVDD and paying over £4000 for an MRI and spinal tap in September 2025, Roscoe has continued to have conservative treatment for fluid inflammation in his spinal cord and a slight ruptured disc in his back lumbar region, sadly roscoes symptoms relapsed and his latest MRI this month (another £3600) has revealed a fully ruptured disc in the neck causing severe and painful spinal compression. We have tried conservative treatment but he simply is not recovering and the vet rang me today stating emergency surgery must be done asap (Monday) for the disc compression on the spine. The risks are high but he is in a lot of pain.
this is an extreme strain on my finances I was not expecting and insurance won’t cover the £6500 or that would be an easy cop out!
£4000 + treatment costs in September 2025 and then another MRI 6 months later followed by this surgery is simply crippling when I also have to spend so much on my staffy who suffers from idiopathic epilepsy costing me hundreds each month.
it’s a big ask and I’m sure many will scroll past as this is the cost of being a dog mum but I thought I would at least try and gather some funds to help towards his surgery considering I love my dogs with all my heart and just want roscoe out of pain and it’s a serious amount of money to materialise out of thin air nowadays.
