Help us Give Rosco the best Last day

2/13-
Dear friends, family, and everyone who has supported Rosco, Thank you.
Every donation, share, message, and prayer has meant more to us than I can put into words.

After a few hopeful days following his IV hospital stay, Rosco has continued to decline this past week at home. We are watching him closely and soaking up every quiet moment, but it’s becoming clear that we are entering his final days with us. He is declining and our hearts are broken. His bloodwork yesterday shows kidney levels back pre treatment despite iv fluids, and a blanket of other meds.

We don’t know exactly when his last day will be, but we want it to be peaceful, surrounded by love and without suffering.

After losing Vinnie just 8 months ago, our hearts are still tender. Preparing to say goodbye to Rosco so soon feels unreal. Our goal is to be able to provide him with an at-home euthanasia, so his final moments are calm, gentle, and without fear.

If you feel led to continue sharing or donating, we are deeply grateful. Any additional support will go directly toward his euthanasia and comfort care for him.

More than anything, thank you for loving our sweet boy with us. We will continue to update you and cherish whatever time we have left.

With love,
Farrah & Family

Update: 2/6 Our sweet Rosco is home. He is resting and seems to not be in distress but he isn't Rosco. Repeated bloodwork today shows very little movement in his kidney panels in the right direction. His phosphorus levels actually worsened. They are still in the severe kidney failure zone. Far into it.
The plan is to aggressively treat with 3x weekly subcutaneous iv fluids at home, steroids, phosphorus binding food powder and antibiotics. This is a blanket of treatments to cover many different possible causes for his kidney failure (Addisons etc) along with supportive care for healing.

Real talk: We are giving Rosco a chance to pull out of this. Realistically we need to see a big improvement in the coming days because he feels so bad. He just isnt the same and I won't let him suffer. However, I want to give his kidneys all the tools they need to heal. I cannot express my gratitude enough to everyone following along, praying, sharing and giving. This has allowed us the ability to give Rosco the care he needs. Your continued support is appreciated

UPDATE: 2/5 Rosco has been at the hospital now 36 hours. He is being a good boy and everyone loves him!! He has been receiving iv fluids, stomach and nausea meds. He has been eating and drinking. Yay!!! Today his kidney function tests showed improvement (yay again!!) but minimal which is puzzling. I had a long talk with his vet today and he thinks it's quite possible Rosco has Addisons Disease (an autoimmune disease) which is my hope because it's treatable. Rosco will be at the hospital until Friday afternoon and repeated bloodwork. We are hoping to bring home our happy boy tomorrow. Please continue praying, sharing and donating. We really need a win with this baby.

Rosco came into our lives last June after being rescued as a stray from Hurricane Helene by Yancey Humane. He’s been through so much, but despite his tough start, he’s the most fun, goofy, and loving dog. Since joining our family, Rosco has healed our hearts in ways I can’t even explain. He’s truly become a part of us.

On January 24th, Rosco started having head tremors or possibly seizures. We rushed him to our vet, and after running bloodwork, we learned he is in severe kidney failure. The vet suspects it may be chronic, but we won’t know for sure until he’s hospitalized and receives IV fluids to see how he responds. This treatment is expensive, and unfortunately, we’re struggling to cover the costs. I work in food and beverage, and this is the slow season for us. My partner is currently on medical leave, so we simply need help to give Rosco the care he deserves.

The funds raised will go directly to Rosco’s vet bills for his hospital stay, tests, and any ongoing treatment he needs. We have a quote from our vet to show the costs involved. We lost our dog Vinnie last year to liver cancer, and I can’t bear for my kids to lose another dog so soon without trying everything the vet recommends. We appreciate your love, prayers, and sharing this fundraiser even if you can’t donate. Your support means the world to us and to Rosco.
