Help Rosalia achieve her goal to walk
Donation protected
Rosalia was born with Agenesis of the corpus callosum and her basal ganglia is infused together. With this diagnosis it has affect her balance and ability to walk or stand unsupported. Her vision has also been compromised, she started out as a baby only seeing toys that would light up in the dark. Rosalia is now three years old and with a lot of vision therapy she is able to see more and more of her surroundings. We have had surgery on her eyes to help them work together and it has improved her quality of life. In addition, Rosalia was born with Laryngomalacia which caused her to be on a Nasogastric tube for the first two months of her life. An affect from the Laryngomalacia has caused Rosalia to develop sleep apnea. We have also undergone surgery to correct the extra tissue in her throat with hopes that the sleep apnea will dissipate. At four days old Rosalia had an eight-minute seizure. We were put on phenobarbital for the length time of 6 months, thankfully she has been able to come off the medication and is thriving. As you can see my daughter is a fighter and with the support of amazing therapist and a great family, we have overcome a lot. Our next goal is to try and get Rosalia to walk on her own and improve her balance so she can have the chance to run and play with her brother. We have started our journey with Breakthrough Intensive therapy one year ago and we have seen a tremendous change in her confidence and ability to balance. Unfortunately, this therapy and our past surgeries have been very expensive. We are looking for any amount to help our little girl be able to enter into their intensive 3-week program. She has been evaluated by their skillfully trained therapist and they believe this program will allow to walk in the future. Today my family is asking you for help to assist in the quality of life for our daughter.
