Help Rosa Walk Again: Urgent Care for Young Dog

Hi everyone, this fundraiser is for my dear friend Charlie and her beloved dog, Rosa.

Charlie is one of the most compassionate and resilient people I know. Late last year, she survived a life-threatening medical emergency that left her in a coma and fighting for her life. Though she pulled through, her recovery has been long and incredibly difficult. She is still unable to work as she heals from a rare autoimmune condition that causes widespread inflammation and organ damage.

Through it all, Rosa never left her side. She has been Charlie’s emotional anchor, her shadow, and her greatest source of comfort through countless painful days. She is not just a pet, she is family.

Now Rosa needs urgent help. Heartbreakingly, she may be facing a frighteningly similar battle.

At only six years old, Rosa has become seriously unwell. She has been diagnosed with foraminal stenosis, a painful spinal condition that is causing her to lose the ability to walk and control her toileting. She often collapses, drags her leg behind her, and struggles to understand what is happening to her body. The vets also suspect it could be something more complex, possibly a neurological condition or even a rare autoimmune disease like Charlie’s. They are now on the same steroid medication to manage high inflammation in their bodies.

It is devastating to watch Rosa deteriorate. She is still so young, full of love, loyalty, and life. She just wants to run, play, and curl up beside Charlie again without pain.

Charlie has already spent nearly $10,000 trying to get Rosa the help she needs. The next steps, including further imaging, injections, specialist consultations, and possible surgery, are financially out of reach. The fundraising goal is based on Rosa’s anticipated medical costs, but her future needs are uncertain. All funds raised will go toward Rosa’s ongoing care and recovery.

All of this comes while Charlie is still rebuilding her own strength. She is physically and emotionally exhausted, but she is not giving up on Rosa. That is why I am reaching out.
